Disney World Stroller Rentals: What Parents Should Know

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World with toddlers or preschoolers, a stroller is probably one of the most important things you can bring. You may be surprised by just how much walking you’ll do each day, and Florida’s heat and humidity can make those long park days even more tiring for little ones. Having a comfortable place to sit, rest, drink some water, and take a break from the sun can make a huge difference.

When your little ones need a longer break, Disney’s Baby Care Centers are another helpful resource for feeding, diaper changes, and escaping the heat for a few minutes. You can read more about what to expect at Disney’s Baby Care Centers here.

Of course, bringing your own stroller can add a few extra logistics when you’re traveling. You’ll also want to make sure it meets Disney’s size requirements before you leave home. If you’d rather not travel with your own stroller, you have a few different options, including renting a stroller directly from Disney or using a third-party stroller rental company. In this post, I’ll walk you through Disney’s stroller policy, current rental prices, where to find stroller rental locations, and the pros and cons of renting from Disney. If you’d like to keep all of your planning details in one place, my Theme Park Trip Planning Bundle for Families with Young Childrenincludes a parent-friendly planning guide, age-specific packing lists, and a flexible itinerary.

Walt Disney World Stroller Policy

Disney has specific stroller size guidelines that are important to know before your trip. If you plan to bring your own stroller, take a few minutes to double check the dimensions before you leave home. The last thing you want is to arrive at Walt Disney World and discover that your stroller is too large to bring into the parks.

Strollers must be no longer than 31 inches (79 cm) wide and 52 inches (132 cm) long.

Other important stroller policy guidelines include:

  • Stroller wagons of any kind are not permitted.

  • Guests should use ramps or elevators rather than escalators when traveling with strollers.

  • Children must be removed from strollers and the stroller must be folded before boarding parking lot trams.

  • Disney recommends that you do not leave valuables in your stroller while it is unattended. We always keep our important items in a single bag that we can quickly take with us when we park the stroller to go on an attraction.

If your stroller does not meet Disney’s size requirements, renting a stroller may be a much more practical option than purchasing a new one just for your vacation.

Walt Disney World Stroller Rentals and Prices

Disney offers stroller rentals at all four Walt Disney World theme parks as well as at Disney Springs. Both single and double strollers are available.

  • Single Stroller–Recommend for children weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Double Stroller–Recommended for children weighing up to 100 pounds total

You can choose to pay for your stroller one day at a time, or prepay for the length of your stay to receive a lower daily rate.

Current Stroller Rental Prices

Single Stroller

  • Daily Rental: $15 per day

  • Multi-Day Rental: $13 per day

Double Stroller

  • Daily Rental: $31 per day

  • Multi-Day Rental: $27 per day

If you prepay for the length of your stay, you’ll receive a receipt that can be used to pick up a stroller each day of your trip. Simply stop by one of the stroller rental locations, show your receipt, and you’ll be given a stroller for the day.

At the end of each day, return the stroller to the rental location before leaving the park or Disney Springs.

Disney stroller rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but they are widely available and I’ve never personally seen them sell out. If you’re visiting with toddlers or preschoolers and decide not to bring your own stroller, this is one of the easiest and most convenient options available.

Pros and Cons of Renting a Stroller from Disney

I believe there are advantages and disadvantages to every stroller option, whether you bring your own, rent directly from Walt Disney World, or use a third-party rental company. The best choice depends on your child’s age, your travel plans, and how you expect to use the stroller during your vacation.

The biggest advantage of renting from Disney is the convenience. Stroller rental locations are located just inside the entrance of each theme park and at Disney Springs, making it easy to pick up a stroller when you arrive. If you prepaid for a multi-day rental, you simply show your receipt and receive a stroller for the day.

The main downside is that Disney stroller rentals must be returned before you leave the park or Disney Springs each day. If you need a stroller at your resort, while walking to transportation, or anywhere else during your trip, you’ll need to bring your own stroller or rent from a third-party company instead.

Another important consideration is that Disney’s strollers are generally best suited for toddlers and older children. They do not recline fully and are not ideal for infants who still need a more supportive seat.

If convenience inside the parks is your top priority, renting directly from Disney can be a great option. However, if you have a baby or want a stroller available throughout your entire vacation, bringing your own stroller or using a third-party rental company may be a better fit.

Where to Rent a Stroller at Walt Disney World

One of the nice things about renting a stroller directly from Walt Disney World is how easy it is to find the rental locations. Strollers are available at all four theme parks as well as at Disney Springs. If you’re using the My Disney Experience app, the interactive map makes it very easy to locate the nearest rental location during your trip.

EPCOT

  • Main Entrance: After passing through security at the front of the park, head to the left and follow the signs for stroller rentals.

  • International Gateway: Located between the France Pavillion and the United Kingdom Pavillion in World Showcase. This is especially convenient if you’re entering from or returning to the Disney Skyliner.

Hollywood Studios

  • Oscar’s Super Service: As you enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios, head to the right past Crossroads of the World.

Magic Kingdom

  • Main Street Train Station: As you enter Magic Kingdom, head toward the train station directly ahead and slightly to the right. The stroller rental location is tucked underneath the station.

Animal Kingdom

  • Garden Gate Gifts: As you enter Disney’s Animal Kingdom, head to the right and follow the signs to stroller rentals.

Disney Springs

  • Sundries: Located near the bus loop between the Coca-Cola Store and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, and just a short walk from the Orange Garage.

Rental locations can occasionally move, so I recommend checking the My Disney Experience app during your visit for the most up-to-date location information.

Final Thoughts

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World with toddlers or preschoolers, a stroller can make a huge difference. Even kids who insist they no longer need one at home may start asking for a stroller after a few hours of walking in the parks.

Renting a stroller directly from Disney is one of the easiest and most convenient options available. The rental locations are easy to find, the process is straightforward, and you can choose between single and double strollers depending on your family’s needs.

That said, renting from Disney is not the best fit for every family. Because the strollers must be returned at the end of each day and are generally better suited for toddlers and older children, families with infants or those who want a stroller available throughout their entire vacation may prefer to bring their own stroller or rent from a third-party company instead.

Disney also sells simple Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse umbrella stroller designs in many of the gift ships throughout the resort. At the time of our visit, they were priced around $40. If you decide partway through your trip that you need a basic stroller to get through the parks, this can be another convenient option to consider.
