We originally bought the Finding Nemo Pop ‘N Sit Portable Booster Seat when my youngest son was almost 2 years old and had outgrown wanting to sit in a high chair. Its compact, portable design and machine washable fabric made it the perfect choice for our family.
Three Ways to Use the Seat
The chair is designed to grow with your child and can be used in three different ways.
As a floor seat, your little one will have a safe and secure place to play. There’s a buckle that can be secured around their waist and a detachable plastic tray table that clicks into place when you’re ready to use it for meal time.
It also works great attached to a chair using the included straps. As your child gets older, the chair can continue to be used as a toddler booster seat pulled up to the table. It puts your little one at just the right height.
Easy to Clean and Travel With
Assembly and clean up are a breeze.
The tray is dishwasher safe but also wipes down easily by hand. The chair fabric is machine washable, which definitely comes in handy with messy toddler meals.
When not in use, simply remove the tray, collapse the seat, and store everything in the bag provided. The bag has a shoulder strap, making it easy to carry wherever you go.
What We Like
If you’re planning an upcoming trip, a beach day, or even dinner at a friend’s house, I think this seat provides a great alternative to a traditional high chair.
My little one seemed more comfortable in the fabric seat, and he enjoyed being able to sit right at the table with everyone else.
There are two sets of straps that help secure the seat to chairs, and they worked well for us. Be sure to check that your specific chair is compatible, but I believe it should fit most standard-sized chairs.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
The only issue I had was that, depending on how my son was sitting in the chair, sometimes the buckle for the lap belt would dig into his legs.
It didn’t happen every time, so I believe it had to do with how he was sitting, but it’s something to keep in mind.
The other minor thing I noticed was that it could sometimes be a little tricky to fit the chair and tray back into the carrying bag. I think there’s a certain way everything is supposed to fit, but every once in a while I’d have to rearrange it a couple of times before I could zip the bag closed.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re looking for a high chair alternative or want a safe, portable place for your little one to eat and play while you’re away from home, I think the Bright Starts Finding Nemo Pop ‘N Sit Portable Booster Seat is a great choice.
It comes in a variety of different patterns, including some fun Disney designs, making it easy to find one that fits your family’s style.
